  Convention “Highlights” - bwhahaha!

  taking a walk down memory lane at those looooonnnnngg, tedious conventions... .

  (boy, they weren’t kidding when they spoke about being long-suffering and having endurance!).

  but what were some of your convention highlights, or lowlights, from back in the day?.

  (Boy, they weren’t kidding when they spoke about being long-suffering and having endurance!)

  But what were some of your convention highlights, or lowlights, from back in the day?

  ...

  I remember:

  - taking endless notes

  - shifting uncomfortably constantly

  - walking aimlessly around the coliseum till you spotted somebody you knew and then it was a big deal to say hello and find out where they were sitting so you could resume walking aimlessly around again...

  Biblical incidents that bothered me.

  i wanted to discuss the (supposed) biblical events that disturbed me a lot when i was a jw.

  these incidents were just read and discussed in the kingdom hall as if these are normal and justified, which clearly weren't.

  perhaps this led to my awakening.

  Yes, oh my goodness so many…

  ... Samson tying a bunch of foxes together and setting their tails on fire ... so cruel to the foxes...

  ... also so cruel to drown all the wildlife and animals in the flood, even the horses in Pharoah’s army...

  (huge soft spot for animals here...)

  ... but also terrible things to people, described so vividly and graphically: “... tent pegs driven thru temples... fornicators speared thru their private parts... children torn apart by she-bears... infant’s heads being dashed against the rocks... prophets sawn asunder...”

  Eeee, I’m making myself sick. This is such terrible stuff ... some “holy” book, hey....
